"Beware... recruiters will promise you the Earth, but know that you are in for utter disappointment. Some good people, lots of rather mediocre employees otherwise... and plenty of politics. This place is a SCRUM death cult which is funny because productivity is pretty low compared to other shops of the same size. Don't you dare do anything that is not on the log for the current sprint or the cargo cultists will punish your blasphemy. Disappointing experience. Boring work."

"Extremely slow environment. Laid back people and no work for coop students. Growth opportunities are limited. Their networking event would promise lot of rainbows and moonlight, but it's all just to attract good students into the crap environment. Refrain from working at this place."

"lol @ the very "polished" reviews posted here. maybe this website needs some kind of authentication to make sure posters are real students. Anyway... my experience at D2L was kind of a bummer tbh. they kind of promise you the moon but aren't able to deliver (at all). if you have better options, take them and don't look back"

"- Plagued with petty politics - Astounding lack of engineering leadership - No coherent product vision; questioning the status-quo is a "waste of company resources" (seriously!?) - Horrible management (by far the worst thing about D2L IMHO). - Good engineers are isolated, braggers are empowered - most of the time it does not matter since they are given no power of the product design. PMs are the baby-sitters. - Interns know what is going on. The running joke is that D2L is like a Ferarri that is being driven by a blind, one-legged squirrel. Good stuff: - Salary - Good Location - You can arrive at 8:00 am and leave at 5:00 pm sharp (no one cares). - Good Android/iOS engineers It was quite demoralizing to work there, avoid at all costs."

"Laid back environment, flexible hours, but not much to do for co-ops from my experience. Pay is pretty crap as well. They tell you they pay "average of one term ahead" at the interview and end up paying below or at the average of your current term."

"Work environment was excellent - all the devs on my team were ready to help at any time. Hackathons are awesome, and are a great opportunity to work on/with other projects/teams. As a co-op, you're given real responsibilities and looked upon as a valuable part of the team if you perform well. Depending on role, there are opportunities to work on various parts of the system (front-end, back-end, database, etc.) All in all, totally worth considering for a return after graduation."

"Working environment was pretty good, the occasional nerf gun fight helped to keep it casual. Perks were pretty minimal, with any food that was put out disappearing in minutes. Mentors were great and generally allow you as much freedom as a full time employee."
